The Big Draw

Art 4This Year The Big Draw Festival theme celebrated and explored the benefits of being actively creative to make positive change and improve wellbeing.

As part of the work towards The Big Draw we were lucky to have local artist Anna Ward in school to work with Year 8s, 9s and 10s.

Anna worked with pupils to create their own paints from natural materials. They looked mainly at madder root and how it was used historically in Norwich dying factories to create ‘Norwich red’. Anna also linked her work to the environment making pupils aware of how chemicals used to dye fabric can pollute rivers and how through their actions this pollution could be minimized.

Many thanks to Anna for her time.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises ten Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
