Examination and Assessment Results

The school achieved record Key Stage 4 examination results in 2016, with all indicators being significantly above the national average. These results place the school amongst the best schools nationally, with performance in English, Mathematics, Science, Modern Foreign Languages and Physical Education being particularly strong.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge well done to all of our pupils and to wish them every success as they move to the next stage of their education.

In 2016, at GCSE level:

• 78% of pupils achieved at least 5 A-C including English and Mathematics
• The school achieved a 0.29 score on the new Progress 8 measure (national average 0)
• 80% of pupils achieved at least 5 A-C grades
• 79% achieved a good pass in English and Mathematics
• English A-C was 78% (national average 60%)
• Mathematics A-C was 82% (national average 61%)
• 91% of pupils achieved the minimum expected levels of progress in English between KS2 and KS4
• 49% of pupils exceeded the expected levels of progress in English
• 79% of pupils achieved the minimum expected levels of progress in Mathematics between KS2 and KS4
• 35% of pupils exceeded the expected levels of progress in Mathematics
• Every pupils achieved at least 5 A*-G grades
• 39% of pupils achieved the English Baccalaureate.

 

In 2015;

At Key Stage 2, outcomes were disappointing in 2015. Outcomes for current Year 6 pupils are predicted to be very strong in 2016.

  • 67% of pupils achieved expected levels in reading
  • 53% of pupils achieved expected levels within writing
  • 53% of pupils achieved expected levels within Mathematics.

At Key Stage 1, outcomes were good in 2015:

  • 88% of pupils achieved expected levels in reading
  • 88% of pupils achieved expected levels within writing
  • 88% of pupils achieved expected levels within Mathematics.

At EYFS, outcomes were good in 2015:

  • 69% of pupils achieved a good level of development
  • 64% of pupils met the requirements of the phonics test.
