Achievement overview

The school achieved some very pleasing Key Stage 4 examination results in 2015, with all indicators being above or at national (with a cohort whose prior attainment was slightly below the national average on entry to the school). Performance in Mathematics and Science was particularly strong.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge well done to all of our pupils and to wish them every success as they move to the next stage of their education.

In 2015, at GCSE level:

  • 60% of pupils achieved at least 5 A-C including English and Mathematics
  • The school achieved a 0.29 score on the new Progress 8 measure (national average 0)
  • 72% of pupils achieved at least 5 A-C grades
  • Average Points Score Capped 8 including English and Maths was 332
  • English A-C was 68% (national average 65%)
  • Maths A-C was 83% (national average 63%)
  • 67% of pupils achieved the minimum expected levels of progress in English between KS2 and KS4
  • 21% of pupils exceeded the expected levels of progress in English
  • 82% of pupils achieved the minimum expected levels of progress in Maths between KS2 and KS4
  • 32% of pupils exceeded the expected levels of progress in Maths
  • Every pupils achieved at least 5 A*-G grades
  • 33% of pupils achieved the English Baccalaureate.

At Key Stage 2, outcomes were disappointing in 2015. Outcomes for current Year 6 pupils are predicted to be very strong in 2016.

  • 67% of pupils achieved expected levels in reading
  • 53% of pupils achieved expected levels within writing
  • 53% of pupils achieved expected levels within Mathematics.

At Key Stage 1, outcomes were good in 2015:

  • 88% of pupils achieved expected levels in reading
  • 88% of pupils achieved expected levels within writing
  • 88% of pupils achieved expected levels within Mathematics.

At EYFS, outcomes were good in 2015:

  • 69% of pupils achieved a good level of development
  • 64% of pupils met the requirements of the phonics test.
