Children experience a range of educational visits during the year, using the local area and our own grounds for fieldwork.
Older children are offered residential trips, alternating each year between going to France to support their foreign
language development and an outdoor activity centre. Children in key stages 1 and 2 have a term of swimming lessons
every year. A wide range of instrumental tuition is available for violin, cello, guitar, keyboard and piano, for a modest
charge. We have an orchestra and provide free recorder lessons. After-school clubs open to children include dance,
multi-sports, gymnastics, with gardening and Lego being offered at lunchtime.
Developing an understanding and appreciation of the natural world is an important part of the curriculum which
children in reception and key stage 1 explore through the Forest School programme and its dedicated area in the grounds.
Our school council plays an important role in discussing issues relating to whole school improvement and in the
decision-making process within the school. We also have energy busters who monitor the amount of electricity
we use and playground angels who support younger pupils and assist in clearing away playtime equipment.
There are good links with Litcham Childcare which operates on the site and with whom we share many facilities.
Childcare offers a breakfast, after school and holiday club.
